There’s not much going on in the garden in winter, so, despite the rain and mud it was great to get out and plant an apple tree.
We already have two apple cordons and we wanted a small fruit tree to go in the top bit of the garden, where we hope to plant some raspberries in the spring.
I’m a big reader – gardening books, wildlife magazines, the whole Harry Potter series, bird books, you name it, I ♥ books!
So, it came as no surprise to receive 14 books for Christmas, this year!
As we say goodbye to 2016 and hello to 2017,
I’m looking back at my gardening highlights this year.
Does Art Make Children Powerful? Well, I like the thought of expressing yourself with art, your imagination can go wild and trust me, I’m not short of imagination!
I like gardening, I like wildlife, I like chocolate and I also like outdoor sculptures. So, it was great to get a bit of fresh air during the Christmas break at Yorkshire Sculpture Park

We have had every kind of weather recently
and it made me think about how tough plants are to survive and thrive in the winter
I’ve been involved in Operation Farm since it started in 2010 and this year it’s been great to see more kids like me get involved in all the workshops & events they do.
We are ‘the next generation of gardeners and cooks!’
Going to a nature reserve like Brockholes, makes me feel relaxed and happy
I just love it!
